This session will present the evolution of the sepsis program at Hoag Hospital, their collaborative approach to spreading sepsis improvement, and the details pertaining to sepsis definitions and guidelines from the Surviving Sepsis Campaign.

By the end of this session you should be able to:

·        Discuss the challenges of spreading the initiative on a large scale

·        Describe specific tactics for improving sepsis outcomes

·        Compare the currently established sepsis definitions with the recently published Sepsis-3 definitions.
